Processing & Shipping Timeframes
We process and ship orders twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays. Orders placed Wednesday through Friday will be processed the following Monday, while orders placed Monday or Tuesday will be processed on Wednesday. Please keep weekends and holidays in mind when planning your order.
We currently ship via ????. The delivery timeframe shown at checkout reflects ????’s estimated transit time, which begins once your order has been handed off to the carrier.
Delayed or Returned Packages
Once an order leaves our hands, delivery timing is managed by the carrier and, on occasion, packages may take a little longer than expected. As a small island-based business, we always recommend allowing an extra day of transit time just in case.
We do our best to process and ship orders on schedule, and most deliveries arrive without issue. Because delivery timing is outside our control after shipment, we’re unable to refund shipping costs for carrier-related delays.
If a package is returned to us for any reason, the cost of re-shipping will be the customer’s responsibility—even if the original order qualified for free shipping. Unfortunately, we’re unable to refund shipping costs for orders that have already been mailed.
If this happens, we’ll reach out as soon as the package arrives back to us and work with you on next steps.
Loss or Theft
Please make sure your order is shipped to a secure delivery location. Once a package has been successfully delivered to the correct address, Salish Sea Soapworks and our shipping carriers can’t be responsible for theft, damage, or missing contents that may occur after delivery.
Address Errors
If you notice an error in your shipping address, please reach out to us as soon as possible. If your order hasn’t shipped yet, we may be able to correct it before it goes out.
Once an order has shipped, Salish Sea Soapworks can’t be responsible for packages delivered to the address provided at checkout. Any additional shipping fees caused by an address error will be the customer’s responsibility.

Local Pick-Up
Neighbors on San Juan Island are welcome to choose local pick-up at checkout. While we don’t have a retail shop open to the public, we do offer a convenient central pick-up location in town.
Local pick-up orders follow the same processing schedule as shipped orders. Once your order is ready, we’ll send an email with the pick-up location and timing details.

What do the delivery estimates at checkout mean?
Delivery estimates shown at checkout are transit time estimates, which begin after your order has been processed and shipped. Processing time is not included in those estimates.
Island Shipping & Delays
Why might my package take an extra day?
We ship from an island, which means every package takes a ferry ride before reaching a mainland distribution center. Occasionally, ferry delays or cancellations can cause packages to miss cutoff times, adding an extra day to transit.
Is this common?
Thankfully, no. While delays do happen from time to time, the system works smoothly far more often than it doesn’t. Many islanders simply plan for an extra day in either direction—just in case.
Do you offer refunds for shipping delays?
Because ferry schedules and carrier delays are outside our control, Salish Sea Soapworks isn’t able to refund shipping costs for carrier-related delays.
Address Errors
What if I entered the wrong shipping address?
Please contact us as soon as you notice an error. If your order hasn’t shipped yet, we may be able to update the address before it goes out.
Can you change the address after shipping?
Once an order has shipped, we’re unable to change the delivery address and can’t be responsible for packages delivered to the address provided at checkout.
Will I be charged for reshipping due to an address error?
Yes—any additional shipping fees incurred due to an incorrect address will be the customer’s responsibility.

Checking the Status of Your Order
How can I track my order?
Once your order has shipped, we’ll send you an email notification with a tracking number. You can use this number to follow your package and see its progress every step of the way.
